Multiplying Three Digit Numbers Less Than Working Base

Multiplying Three Digit Numbers Less Than The Working Base Using Nikhilum Sutra

In this method we take a common base such that both the numbers are less than the base. Such type of Techniques of Vedic Maths help us to perform calculations in a much faster way.  Mastering such type of techniques is very essential in Competitive Exams where time is very precious

For example let us take 989 and 992.

Step 1: As both the numbers are less than 1000, so we will take the base as 1000.

let the base be 1000

989       -11

992       -8

Step 2: Now, multiply -11 with -8, we get 88.

Step 3: Now, add diagonally 989 with -8 or 992 with -11, We will get 981

Step 4: Multiplying 981 with the base 1000 and add 88.

Thus, answer is 981088
